Charis studied Shipping, Trade and Transport at the University of Aegean, Chios, where he took his Master’s degree as well.
He started his career in a Greek shipping company, working at the operations department and then worked for twelve (12) years in an international correspondency firm acting both as a claims handler and a surveyor.
As surveyor, Charis had attended various cargo cases, contact incidents, groundings and pollution matters, being the attending surveyor in one of the biggest pollution incidents in Greek waters the last years.
In his capacity as claims handler, Charis had dealt with all types of P&I claims including of collisions, groundings, complex cargo cases and pollution incidents. Also, the last four years of his career he was heading the P&I department of a Turkish correspondent which enabled him to obtain local knowledge in Turkish market.
Manos holds a Bachelors degree in Marine Engineering, Masters degree in Naval Architecture – University of Newcastle Upon Tyne and a Masters degree in Shipping Trade and Finance – City University. He has experience as an assistant Superintendent, gaining seagoing experience and attending at new-building projects and dry-dock repairs in China and Korea.
Manos has been mainly dealing with H&M damages, P&I claims, Warranty Surveys, Yacht and Condition Surveys. He is a Certified Operator qualified for UT Testing of hatch covers and has successfully attended and completed various marine training programs. He is a Chartered Marine Technologist, Member of the Institute of Marine Engineering, Science and Technology – London and the Hellenic Technical Consultants Association. He is also a Member of the Technical Chamber of Greece.
Petros studied Mechanical & Marine Engineering at the University of Liverpool John Moores and holds a Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering – American University of Athens and a Masters degree in Marine Engineering and Management – University of Greenwich. During his studies he worked as assistant service engineer in two Greek-based machinery workshops, carrying out maintenance and repair works on ocean-going vessels and pleasure yachts. He has seagoing experience as Cadet Engineer and has previously held positions of Assistant Technical Superintendent, Technical Superintendent & Deputy DPA. During his career he has attended at various dry-dock repairs and sea-trials.
Petros has been mainly dealing with H&M damages, Warranty Surveys, Condition Surveys and P&I claims. He is a Certified Operator qualified for UT Testing of hatch covers and he has successfully completed Lloyd’s Register training course on ISM and DPA. He is an affiliate Member of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE), UK.
Dursun has graduated from the Merchant Marine Academy, Turkey as a Ship Operation Engineer. At the beginning of his career, for thirteen (13) years he gained seagoing experience as watch-keeping officer and Chief Engineer onboard Oil and Chemical Tankers. He later on served for four (4) years as the Technical Manager of Karavelioglu Shipping. Since 1996 for a period of twenty-two (22) years he was working as Senior Surveyor and SQE Lead Auditor for the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) in Turkey.
He joined the firm in 2019 and has been mainly dealing with Condition Surveys and H&M damages and claims. He is certified as ISM Code Lead Auditor by the ABS Academy, QMS Auditor, ISPS, IQCS, ILO, OHSAS and QMS –IRCA- Transition & Awareness Auditor. He is also a Member of the Chamber of Marine Engineers, Turkey.
Emre graduated from the Maritime Faculty of Istanbul Technical University and sailed onboard bulk carriers for 4 years, completing his sea service as a Chief Officer.
He continued his career as a surveyor and claims handler at a local correspondency and surveying firm heading the Izmir office since 2016 whereupon he joined our firm in 2022. During his professional career, Emre had dealt with all types of P&I cases inclusive of high profile casualties, complex cargo cases and delicate crew matters. The last four (4) years, Emre also had carried out various yachts survey, developing also this aspect as well.
In Mentor Thesmarine Consultants, Emre will be the Head of the P&I department of the firm as well as the contact point for all P&I matters that will arise.
Onur holds a Bachelor’s degree in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering from State University of New York Maritime College, and a Master’s degree in Organization and Management from Marmara University.
He has previous experience as a repair Project Engineer at various Turkish shipyards. He has been involved with a number of different repair and conversion projects, and dealt with a range of different types of vessels. He has also experience in Project Planning and Cost Analysis. He has been mainly dealing with Loss Prevention and Repair Projects/Surveys.
